| Biography:
Yong Mei Chen is a professor in College of Bioresources Chemical and Materials Engineering, Shaanxi University of Science & Technology, China. She got PhD degree of Polymer Science, Hokkaido University, Japan, in 2004, directed by famous hydrogel researchers, Prof. Yoshihito Osada and Prof. Jian Ping Gong. She did Postdoc Research Fellow in Creative Research Initiative ‘Sousei’ of Hokkaido University, as Science Technology Promoted Researcher and Academic Research during 2004-2006, and then became an Assistant of Creative Research Initiative ‘Sousei’, Hokkaido University during 2006-2007. In 2007 she became an Associate Professor of Creative Research Initiative ‘Sousei’, Hokkaido University. She worked in Xi'an Jiaotong University during 2008-2018 as a professor, and then she join in Shaanxi University of Science & Technology as a Distinguished Professor. She was selected as Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Top 1% highly cited author in 2015. Her research group is advancing design and synthesis novel gels to biomaterials, flexible electronics, devices and water treatment.
