Dr. Xianying Zhang Tongji University, China
Biography: Dr. Xianying Zhang is a professor within the College of Transportation Engineering at Tongji University and a visiting academic to the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR) at University of Southampton, United Kingdom. She graduated with Bachelor and Master degrees (in Sound and Vibration) from Northwestern Polytechnical University, China in 2009 and 2012 and received her PhD degree at the University of Southampton in 2016, where Dr Zhang worked as a research fellow after the completion of PhD study until 2020. She has a variety of research interests in the vibro-acoustics, structural vibration and sound radiation from aircraft, submarine and railway tracks including the passive and active control of noise from these structural vibrations. Her current research is on the dynamic and acoustic properties of rail transit and seeking mitigation measures to reduce the railway noise.
